Halfway Reflection

This is a reflection of my first half in ENT 3003.
1.     What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
·      One behavior I have developed for this class is creation of a schedule to make sure I get all my work done. Since this class is completely online, it can be easy to forget that you have things due. One thing that helps is that each week the same things are always due: two assignments, two peer reviews, and a cupcake. The schedule I try to follow for this course is that I usually get the first assignment done on Monday and the second either by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. This way even if I forget to do an assignment I still have two extra days to complete it. For the peer reviews I usually do them Friday. The only assignment I wait until the last second for are the cupcakes since I have to watch the lectures first. I have found that having a rather strict schedule for this class is helpful because I never forget any of the assignments and I get the work out of the way.
2.     Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
·      One moment when I felt like giving up in this class was when I first started and I saw the same assignments with different letters next to them and how I had to ‘declare’ for some of them. This made me want to give up because it was all very confusing and it was the first time I had ever seen this kind of format in a class. The thing that pulled me through was that I just took my time the first week and I realized that it was all very simple and that I was overacting. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude. I think the thing that made me develop this is that this will probably be my last semester with relatively easy classes and that I need to ace all of my classes to keep my GPA up before I start the harder classes next semester.
3.     What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
·      The three tips I would offer are:
                                               i.     Do not get overwhelmed when one of the classes you are taking are set up in a slightly different manner like this one. Just take it slow and you get into a rhythm and find that this class is very easy.
ii.     Make a strict schedule and try to stick to it as much as possible. This helps you make sure that you get all of the assignments done before the deadline and also helps you get into a rhythm.
iii. Actually try in this class instead of just trying to reach the minimum word count for assignments. This class is very easy and the assignments have a minimum word count of 150 words which is ridiculously easy. Actually trying in this class has made my experience more enjoyable because if you go for the minimum the assignments feel like busy work rather than learning experiences
